| Video Discription | Pabitra has been pivotal to the success of our projects in Nepal. She is dedicated to helping people in need, and passionate about finding an education for all children to give them a brighter future. Our cottage industry that she runs supplies half of the items on our Traveling Light site. The children under her care are living examples of young Bodhisattvas, so it is a privilege to try to find sponsors for the children she takes into her home. We are aiming to build a shelter near her home so that she can bring benefit to more children and senior citizens in need. If you would like to contribute to this project please contact: anahatara@mac.com Nepal is not a stable country at this time and strikes and civil war make it a difficult country to work in. Frequently there is no electricity. But this is all the more reason not to give up and to do what ever we can to support the local arts and crafts, like the Pashmina Water Shawls that are on this page: http://www.traveling-light.net/emporium-shawlspash.shtml Andrea Abinanti that you can see sitting beside Pabtra is a great friend to Prema and I personally and to Tara Dhatu. Not only is she fluent in Nepali, Tibetan and English, but she is also a classical dance master in the Newari tradition and she teaches the nuns of Tara Abbey, under the auspices of Tara Dhatu. Pabitra is also talking briefly about Atisha School that Tara Dhatu also sponsors in Kathmandu. We help in many ways to raise money for culture costumes, school desks and also the individual sponsorship of children and families.
