SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Waqar Ahmed, protester: "Suddenly our country is occupied, our resources are occupied. This is an occupying group (referring to the current government) and we stand against them. Whenever Imran Khan calls, we will come out. The prices should increase gradually but this incompetent regime increased prices quickly. We have no business, what do we do to live?" 8. Various of protesters STORYLINE: Hundreds of protesters gathered in Islamabad on Sunday evening to rally against high prices and the current government. The protest was called for by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. "There were no high prices in Imran Khan's government, prices were normal", said protester Laiba Khan "We will bring Imran Khan back again at any cost", she added. Khan served as prime minister for over three and half years until he was ousted by a no-confidence vote in parliament in April. Since then, Khan has held rallies with thousands of people across the country. Khan claims Washington opposes him because of his independent foreign policy favoring China and Russia. He was criticized for a visit he made on February 24 to Moscow, where he met with President Vladimir Putin as Russian tanks rolled into Ukraine.
