As they parked their car behind their house, a speeding Opel Astra suddenly screeched to a halt nearby. A hitman swiftly emerged, brandishing two guns, and sprinted towards John's car. In a panic, John managed to dash into his backyard and close the gate behind him. The hitman, dropping one of his guns, reached the gate with a remaining revolver in hand, firing multiple rounds over a wall and into the garden before retrieving the fallen weapon and making a hasty escape. The stolen Opel Astra used in the attack was later discovered burnt out, highlighting the premeditated nature of the assault. The hitman had meticulously tracked John's movements for days, planting a tracker under his Nissan.
