He was the first scientist in human history. He worked with several of the greatest thinkers of his time, like Plato and Socrates. He was Alexander the Great’s teacher, founding his own school, The Lyceum. Number 9. MAHATMA GANDHI Gandhi was the first to speak out in support of nonviolent resistance. He created a viable route to liberation through peaceful protest in India. He wanted the liberation of all humanity, not only Indians. Number 8. ABRAHAM LINCOLN Lincoln led the world’s strongest country, and diligently led the U.S. during its bloodiest war – the American Civil War (1861 to 1865). He was not only known as the president that presered the union during the war, but also motivated millions around the world through his Gettysburg address.
