| Video Discription | Shrimp Po’ Boy He is our recipe for Shrimp Po Boy. We have also made an Oyster Po’ Boy in our video library. the beauty of this sandwich is that there are so many varieties. Although this may not be an authentic New Orleans recipe, it is our version that we like to make in our kitchen. We used a french loaf for our bread, nice and crusty outside and chewy inside. I just Love this Sandwich Recipe: For the Buttermilk marinade: Ingredients: 16 each- 16-20 shrimp. You may use smaller if you like. 2 cup- buttermilk 1/2 cup- hot sauce Method: Peel the shrimp and remove the tails. Place the shrimp in a large mixing bowl. Cover the shrimp with buttermilk and hot sauce, stir and refrigerate for 2 hours. Recipe: For the seasoned coating. Ingredients: 1 cup- all purpose flour 3/4 cup- cornmeal 1 tsp- dried oregano 1 tsp- paprika 1 tsp- cayenne pepper as needed- salt and pepper As needed- oil for frying Method: Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl. Add the marinated shrimp in batches and coat well. Place the shrimp in batches in 350F oil. tHey should only take about 6 minutes for each batch. Remove shrimp and drain well. Season with cajun seasoning is optional. Recipe: For the remoulade: Ingredients: 1/2 cup- mayo 1 TBSP- dijon mustard 1 TBSP- dill pickle relish 1 tsp- chopped garlic 1 tsp- paprika 2 TBSP- hot sauce Method: Combine all of the ingredients, mix well. Refrigerate for 2 hours to let the flavors come together. To dress your Po’ Boy- add layers of the remoulade to each side of the bread. Layer shaved lettuce and beefsteak tomatoes, then your shrimp.
