| Video Discription | This is an informational overview video on Prednisone. Prednisone is an inactive systemic corticosteroid, that is metabolized by the liver in active metabolite prednisolone. Prednisone has high glucocorticoid proporties, which gives it effects in the regulation of your Immune system and metabole activities. It works much like your bodies own Cortisol. Prednisone has low mineralocorticoid proporties, which give it effects in managing your electrolyte and fluid balances. Those effects work much like your bodies own Aldosterone. Prednisone is available under several brandnames: Deltasone, Liquid Pred, Orasone, and Adasone. In this video I will explain when to use Prednisone, how to use prednisone, what dosage to use of prednisone, what are the side effects of prednisone, and is prednisone safe to use when pregnant or while breastfeeding. In addition I will also explain if prednisone is safe to use while driving, and if prednisone is safe to use with alcohol. This video is meant for patients and layman.
