Good At First, Broke After A Month
I had a lot of hope for this tripod after doing some research and reading reviews. I use a spotting scope that is much lighter than the maximum weight rating listed on this tripod and I had used a traditional hand tightening tripod before this. I wanted a more fluid setup and I liked that this tripod uses a pistol grip setup and tightens up after you release the grip. Sounds great right? Well there are some design flaws with this setup if you need a large range of motion especially you wanted to aim your camera or scope up. The head of this tripod was definitely not meant to handle a larger camera or lightweight spotting scope. The bolt that holds the quick release assembly down which is the second picture, stripped itself out which loosened up the assembly. The third and fourth picture show the range of motion as a result of the stripped bolt. With that issue, everytime you adjusted your camera or spotting scope, you had to anticipate for extra movement from the stripped bolt. The fifth picture shows where the bolt is supposed to screw in, but brought up metal shavings which basically meant this is a permanent issue. This all happened in just over a month of owning it and I have gone back to my old set up. If this review helped in your decision, please mark helpful.

I run a YouTube studio and this is my go to tripod. I have three of them and they do everything I need them to. I can shoot from various angles and heights including straight down at a table top. The features of the tripod like pistol grip and bubble level are also extremely handy. The light weight and small is when fully collapsed makes it easy to transport when I need to take my shoots on the go.

I love this tripod. I saw the same one at Best Buy and they wanted $50 for it. I went on here to see how much they were before I left to see if it was cheaper. Sure enough it was and it works amazing. I was going go with the Manfrotto that is similar to this but tested it out at Best Buy and loved it.

I found that the product came in handy. I like the ball head because i shoot short films, but the pistol grip isnt made for film making, but thats okay because it also comes off and you can use it for a stabilizer. And i found that you can use the tripods on your slider. I now have two tripods for that. So the tripod is worth the money.

The quality is best represented by the amount of money you spent on it. And the pistol grip novelty wears off rather quickly when you actually use it for photography. It’s not practical.

Excellent tripod! I'm a Nikon photographer and often use my 24-70 lens, which is quite heavy. Other tripods fall over from the weight of my camera and bigger lenses, but not this one! Very sturdy and I trust it enough to walk away for a family selfie! The trigger is amazing and so easy to use as well...I love the way it locks securely, no matter which angle you place it at. Thank you for a great product!

Someone forgot to return mine, so I just let them keep it and ordered the same one for myself again. A little on the expensive side, but totally worth it. The pistol grip allows for you to easily adjust the camera's position. Highly recommend this product.

I originally gave this Sunpak tripod a 5 star review. I had an older version of this Sunpak 6000PG tripod, which I have used for the last 14 or 15 years. I wanted to get a new tripod so we can keep one in each of our cars. We are out and about a lot hiking, exploring and taking photos, and although we try to remember to bring the tripod, it always seems to be in the other car. Anyway, I did quite a bit of research online about the best tripods under $100, and although very few reviews mentioned the Sunpak 6000PG, when I looked at what they could do, compared to what mine could do, I could not find a reason to buy anything other than another Sunpak 6000.

I have now had the tripod about 6 months, although I have only used it a few times. The other day I went to use it and when I extended one of the legs, it pulled completely out and could not immediately be reinserted. I worked on it for a bit and finally got it to go back in, but when I extended it again, it again came out. The leg will not lock, making the tripod unstable and unusable. I contacted Amazon but was told that since it was past 90 days, they are out of it. I was referred to the manufacturer, Sunpak. I have e-mailed them but have heard nothing back so far. Very disappointed with the quality of the new tripod and the fact that an item that cost $70 would break after a few uses. I do not recommend this item.
