2D and 3D shapes - Can You Guess the Shape? An animated video featuring a range of 2D and 3D shapes in real life. A fun shape game to help your child think about the 2D and 3D shapes and their shape properties. A great video for learning the shape names and having some math fun.
Learning the shapes, did you ever think about how to teach your kids more about the different shapes and help them to know their names? Here is one of these different methods which you could depend on.
There is one thing which we should all agree on before moving forward with teaching the kids those different shapes, which is the fact that people might refer to the shapes they are viewing in a different way and with different names and that is exactly why kids should understand the shapes and what they are close in their looks to and at the same time know about the tiny and small differences that might be found out there.
The different shapes that are found out there include the circle, the sphere, the triangle, the rectangle, the square, the hexagon, the cylinder, the pyramid, the cube, the cuboid, the triangular prism, the trapezium, the kite, the tetrahedron, the pentagon, the rhombus, the cone, the octagon, the hexagonal prism and the hemisphere.
Sometimes people might refer to some shapes with the same name, such as the sphere and the circle which appear very close to one another, or else the triangle and the pyramid which are also the same but given different names according to the object that is seen. These difference should be accepted, but the kids should be also able to find out the differences that could appear between such two similar shapes in order to manage differentiating between them in the future.
There are several ways to teach the kids those different shapes; it could be through showing them pictures, through showing them real shapes, letting them watch a video like this one, or else give them the chance to learn the shapes through the wooden or plastic shapes which are made in the form of toys for the kids to learn more about them. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9nMr4P843o)
The main focus of this video was on the real objects that take the form or some shapes that parents are supposed to teach the kids and let them know the differences and know how to differentiate between them. One of the main things to also shed the lights on in this educational video is the fact that these shapes are either 2D or 3D and that is also another thing for the kids to know about (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ea_xGBiw1o). In addition to the properties of these 2D and 3D shapes which one should know about, it is also important to teach the kids about 3D shape nets (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwDjm6Ra1W4).
Mixing the education of shapes along with other lessons like giving the kids the chance to learn the names of the numbers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4BD3Rv17lo) or even just playing with them to name the names of the real shapes which you might encounter together while you are strolling down the street or just playing together at home (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU1x8oIcvT0). All these things will help them to keep the piece of information in their mind and let them remember them easily later on.
Kids love the process of learning new things and information through the games they play, the real things they encounter on their daily life routines and through giving them the chance to solve problems and try to come up with the right answers and solutions. That's exactly the same reason why we believe that letting the kids guess the shapes through videos or else through the things and objects they come across every single day will always be effective and will help them to keep remembering these shapes.
