Counting Songs and Rhymes for Kids - Five Fat Sausages. A fun animated math video featuring a counting rhyme to help your child count from 1-5. It also introduces the concept of counting back and subtraction.
Counting could be taught to the kids in so many different ways and one of those which we think is the most interesting are the different counting songs and rhymes which they could sing along with and make sure the song is stuck in their heads.
One of these different counting rhymes for kids is the "Five Fat Sausages" and it helps the kids to count from one to five in an easier way than doing it through watching cartoon or even through playing games - songs stick in the mind faster and much easier.
"Five little sausages sizzling in the pan,
All of a sudden one went "BANG",
Four little sausages sizzling in the pan,
All of a sudden one went "BANG",
Three little sausages sizzling in a pan,
All of sudden one went "BANG",
Two little sausages sizzling in a pan,
All of a sudden one went "BANG",
One little sausage sizzling in a pan,
All of a sudden it went "BANG"
This is an easy song and the rhyme is the thing making it more interesting for the kids, so it is important to focus your attention on the rhyme that is being used. Counting from one to five is easy but for the kids or toddlers who are all new to the counting thing, it is considered not much an easy thing for them and that's why parents should take it easy and start simply.
This rhyme and counting song is also helpful to let the kids learn how to count backwards or even how to subtract - you will ask them 5 - 1 = ? and they should answer because the song will complete that there are only 4, and so on. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5gutmYmsaA)
There are lots of other songs and rhymes that the kids could depend on and from the examples which we have brought on our channel, there is "Five Little Monkeys" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6QCcRZK2yU) and "Ten in a Bed" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZC_ScHpCg8).
There are different ways to teach your kids counting or any of the mathematical equations that are found out there; addition, subtraction, multiplication or division. There are the number games which the kids could find interesting and could actually depend on (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3q7imQuRBQ), there are the counting videos or cartoons which the kids usually depend on (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYmMjMBjMcI) and there are those ordinary ways of counting the things or objects which they are viewing in front of them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rJbXeuhHfY).
Since we are talking about subtraction and how kids could actually learn it through such rhymes as well, we should also recommend some other useful methods which the kids could depend on in order to know how to subtract. Subtracting through using Lego pieces (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdlIHYRnjAg), subtracting through using play doh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw91epryD28), learning different subtraction tricks (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSYXMxtzGbA) or even just learning the basic subtraction method that all the kids should at least start with (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i62H7oT4LZw), there are actually lots of ways and methods which the kids could depend on and learn something from.
When it comes to the different counting songs and rhymes that are created for the kids to learn how to count, there are lots of them, and as we have mentioned before, the most important thing is the rhyme is the music and which is the thing that will easily attract the attention of the kid and help in keeping the song or the rhyme in his/her mind.
After teaching your kids this rhyme and helping them to know how to count from 1 to 5, you could now ask them some subtraction questions related to these numbers and also move forward to teach them other rhymes and bigger numbers.
How did this song turn out to be in the end? Did your kids enjoy learning to count through it? Enjoy watching this video along with your kids and let us know more about your feedback and how effective it turned out to be at the end!
