The pilot deployed in March 2021, when 700 meters of ERS was installed as part of a 5km bus route in Tel Aviv. The road wirelessly charges a public e-bus whenever it passes over the charging system hidden beneath the tarmac. Following the success of the pilot, in October 2021 new plans were announced to integrate wireless charging systems into 100 more electric buses, based in the Reading Terminal, situated in north Tel Aviv. Over the next five years, ElectReon, Dan Bus Company, and the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality plan to deploy electric road systems and vehicle-side technology to equip a total of 200 e-buses to be powered wirelessly as they drive. #electric #ev #wirelesscharging [kB7-5DDDGHo] |
