This film was commissioned to raise awareness on the issue of Domestic Violence and the service that Saheli provide: Saheli provide a holistic, high quality service, including running a refuge, outreach and resettlement service, diverse activities and training other agencies, supporting Asian women and their children on issues they face, and campaigning for their rights, leading to them achieving emotional and practical well-being. Saheli gives Asian women a chance to get away from violent domestic situations by providing an environment which is safe, culturally familiar and which helps them come to a decision of their own -- whether it is one of reconciliation or coming to terms with being a single parent and living independently.
