After all air cells are removed from frontal recess, the catheter tip is inserted into the frontal sinus so that the balloon is situated in the sinus ostium region. The cuff is then inflated with normal saline to fill the balloon for a minute then it is deflated again. The frontal sinus ostium is immediately patent and the mucosal oedema is immediately relieved.
