That’s why the Town of Taos has partnered with the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) and the George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies to create a Destination Stewardship Plan (DSP) aimed at promoting responsible tourism practices that promote, preserve, and celebrate Taos’ unique natural and cultural heritage. This year-long project will focus on developing strategies and initiatives to enhance the sustainability of tourism in the region while also ensuring that tourism benefits the local community, respects the area’s cultural and natural resources, and remains true to the community’s shared values.
