| Video Discription | It's already Sunday of our antique show in the tremendous old Utopian town of New Harmony, Indiana! We've been so busy doing appraisals that we only now are getting free to shop. Will there still be bargain finds our collectors prize after a busy day at this great vintage and antique show? The answer is a resounding yes! The friendly dealers at this show have plenty of great stuff, and we find deals on everything from costume jewelry and Boho hooked rugs to Fenton uranium fairy lamps and a pretty cool Jarts alternative that mom (and the Childhood Safety Council) would approve. A muscular Hungarian pottery bull, Evening in Paris powder and a pick that might have been used in someone's old Parisian pompadour are a fun things our summer show visitors will really love! Between appraisals, I get around to shop a bunch of true antiques and primitives as well. A collection of 1840s-1860s Staffordshire figures and serving pieces tell us much about early Victorian tastes and trends, while great rusty metal objects range from sit-in metal washtubs to a Coca-Cola sponsored delivery scooter! Most surprising is a coverlet that could be at home in an MCM op-art display just as easily as an 1850s cottage. Even a very elderly flyswatter speaks to the ingenuity of people who just made due with what they had in early America. We talk to a dealer about why he's returning to sell here in the real world, and the pros-and-cons versus his online selling platforms, giving insight to why different items sell for different prices in different places. Then it's time to pack and go home...and we didn't even get to shop all the outside dealers!
