| Video Discription | ...The Miss Earth Nigeria pageant, with the theme "Beauties for a Cause" is an annual beauty pageant event. Though the Miss Earth pageant started in 2001, Miss Earth Nigeria started sending out representatives in 2002. It started by sending out queens from different national pageants like the Miss Commonwealth and Miss Nigeria until the Miss Earth Nigeria national pageant began in 2004. The winner is expected to work in collaboration with environmentalist and state parastatals on how to make water safe, check erosion, pollution among others. The pageant also conducts road shows to educate people on the three R's Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The president and national director of the pageant Ibinabo Fiberesima who is also the present President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria says, the pageant is focused at preparing a brighter future for teenage girls who are interested sheltering the environment, catering for the environment as well as making a career in the fashion and beauty industry.
