| Video Discription | In September 2022 Jeff visited the Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming and found graves of some truly historical figures. Join Jeff at the graveside of Nellie Tayloe Ross, the first woman governor in U.S. history. #cheyennewyoming #historyhunters #firstwomen We will also visit the gravesite of Willie Nickell, the 14-year-old killed allegedly by Tom Horn who hanged for the shooting. Then there is the grave of Frances Warren, the first governor of Wyoming after it became a state. His daughter, who married Gen. John J. Pershing, also perished in a San Francisco house fire with her three young daughters who are also buried in the Warren family plot. Other gravesites include Harry S. Yount, the first-ever national park ranger. John Phillips, the celebrated man who rode over 240 miles to get help after the Indians massacred Army soldiers in 1866 outside of Fort Kearny in Wyoming. Suffragette Esther Morris is at rest here as are numerous governors! |
