In this video we travel to Spain & visit Albarracin, a remote hill top town located in east-central Spain. With narrow streets disappearing between tall buildings you get a feel of wanting to explore everything this place has to offer. Lots of intriguing sights and smells entice the traveller down the winding pathways. There are places to eat and drink, we very quickly discovered a lovely cave bar for a refreshing stop. As the busy summer tourist season had ended we found that English was not commonly spoken at the restaurant we visited for lunch, which we loved. We speak basic Spanish and fully embrace the chance to improve our language, that's why we are here after all! The food is traditional Spanish dishes and some with Moorish influence. The town is relatively high altitude of nearly 1200 mtrs above sea level so the weather here is changeable. Hot sun and then very cold evenings is what we found during our stay in autumn. The town is packed with history, from medieval stone structures to beautiful temples made from exotic materials which glisten in the sun. As evening approaches the whole place is subtlety lit with street lights which give the place a warm orange glow. We stayed at the Doña Blanca hotel just outside of the town, very helpful staff, a decent comfy room and secure car parking within east walking distance to everything Albarracin has to offer.
