| Video Discription | Before Hip Hop, DJs would play specific songs for break dancing. The key was to keep the people dancing, extending the get down longer. This was considered music of the streets. You did not hear most of these songs in discos, night clubs or bars. Matter of fact, we were not welcome in those circles and was called ghetto music. Before Hip Hop, the 12-inch single was introduced to extend version of songs. The best way to get the songs distributed was through DJ record pools. New York Record Pool was one of the first established music pool for club DJ's. Again, most street DJ's were denied.
