| Video Discription | New Zealand's first private television network, TV3 (now Three), commenced transmission at 8pm on the evening of Sunday 26 November 1989 with a gala opening and 'a two hour preview of what to expect and what will screen on TV3 - involving programme previews, interviews with network stars, personality profiles and much more'. Regular programming began at 7am the next morning with the Early Bird Show - introduced by Russell Rooster, Kiri Kea and friends, and featuring such cartoons as Garfield, DuckTales, The Wuzzles and Dennis the Menace. The Early Bird Show had news updates on the half hour all morning, with Joanna Paul reading the morning news. Here's a 30 second version of the TV3 ident and original theme song - "Come Home to the Feeling, Only on 3".
