| Video Discription | I was told to have surgery, and I avoided it. I had a lot of reasons not to get surgery: one of my family members had 6 failed back surgeries before I injured mine and I had also seen dozens of patients in the office who had failed back surgeries. I intuitively knew that the surgery was a gamble and that taking the long, hard road to recovery would likely address the root of the issue. This thought process held true. It is through learning these movements AFTER my herniation that I felt better and more stable than ever before. Sure, I may have had a successful surgery, but because I decided to live with the pain, it forced me to learn A LOT about my mind and body. For that, I am grateful. As a result, I am not only a master of my own body, I have taught over 22,000 people to be the masters of their own body as well. There are some instances where surgery is necessary, however that is NOT the majority of people. Surgery is often overprescribed as physical/mechanical problems are NOT the only cause of pain.
