Originally regarded as a heretic due to its use of a 40mm case, date window, and automatic winding the Patrimony Contemporaine Automatic has become the definitive Vacheron and - perhaps - the first true icon of a brand that has never fielded signature watch in the mold of Patek Philippe's Calatrava/Nautilus or Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak/Offshore. With an 18-karat white gold case, delicately textured matte silver dial, and 18-karat hands and indexes, Vacheron brings the goods. The Partimony is fine but never ostentatious. Its detailing is as sensitive and nuanced in the finest Geneva tradition.
