SaffronStays started as an aggregator of homestays in 2015. After a few months of operations, Devendra and Tejas Parulekar noticed the dearth of curated homes in the market. The lack of curated, quality home stays while on holiday, coupled with the cookie cutter ideology of holiday options in the country, inspired the founders to revamp their strategy. The owner of SaffronStays Parsi Manor, Matheran was the first homeowner who approached Tejas and Deven to revamp and manage the home, and the idea for SaffronStays 2.0 was planted. SaffronStays now curates boutique homes and partners exclusively to manage the hospitality operations, branding, marketing and reservations thereby helping home owners monetise their otherwise dead assets. In two short years since the business pivot, the brand has acquired more than 30 exclusive homes across the country with a presence in Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand and shall be spreading to Madhya Pradesh soon with a target of 50 homes by the end of FY 2017. The steady pace, and strong dedication to the brand philosophy has ensured a controlled expansion of the company.
