Ben has been a hero to me in the memory world for over a decade. When I began competing he was the World Memory Champion. So I contacted him via email and asked him memory training questions back in 2008. And much to my surprise the world's top memory expert replied to my email. At the time I had been a memory expert for 17 years and the advice he gave to me was some of the best I had every heard. In question #1 in thi video I ask him to repeat that advice. His advice on memorizing faster was to trust your memory. To trust that your memory has the data and to go faster than you think is possible. This is really great advice from one of the world's top memory experts. Ben won the World Memory Championships in 2004, 2008 and 2009. He held the record for the fastest to memorize a deck of shuffled cards at 24.97 seconds. He jokes and says that isn't impressive anymore but the current world record is only about 18 seconds (Alex Mullen holds this record). There are very few in the world who have memorized a deck of cards in under 25 seconds. Since I had this high level memory expert with me I went on to ask him questions such as the first memory book he read, how many locations are in his memory palace, what are examples of things that he memorized that have nothing to do with memory tournaments and several other questions.
