| Video Discription | This is the amazing Yamaha CFX concert grand piano recorded up close with a Galaxy S5 phone. Though my playing is lacking I know, and the sound quality (although stereo) of the phone isn't great, the powerful bright sound of the CFX is still evident. It's a treat to experiment with the voicing and range of this piano--the bass is huge but clear, the treble is bright and has the Yamaha ring to it. Some unisons are out of tune--it was played by Chick Corea in a concert with Herbie Hancock before this recording. Yamaha has really 'hit a home run" with the CFX. I've played Yamaha concert grands from an old CF through to the CFX, and this new one is really special. I've included annotations throughout this video. Please watch my other CFX video for a different perspective and a more serious player. Classic Pianos is located in downtown Denver and has a full selection of Yamaha, Bosendorfer and many others, plus they have pianos classes and a small recital hall all in the same building.
