| Video Discription | This is the second scene for my audition for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Heeramandi' (2024). I was not briefed anything about the film's story or the character -- it was all super secret! I only knew that the story takes place in pre-Partition Lahore and that this character Cartwright was a private investigator/detective with the British police. Now that 'Heeramandi' has released, I see that this Cartwright role was not just a detective -- but actually much more of a villain! Congratulations to Jason Shah on his portrayal in the series. I think he has gotten a lot of praise for his solidly evil performance. Had I known Cartwright was a true villain, I obviously would have performed this audition differently. I hope you still find it enjoyable, though. I mainly tried to convey the sense of an officer/detective who is trying to find the truth...but who is in over his head, so to speak.
