Set during the time of the Old Republic , this game really expanded on a time period that up until this point had barely been touched in the Expanded Universe. Only the Tales of the Jedi Comics in the mid 90's had really explored this time previously. To this day Revan is one of the most popular non movie Star Wars characters out there. Many people love the characters of Bastilla Shan and Darth Malak as well. 7 days from now; July 16, 2024, will mark the 21 year anniversary Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). We constantly hear announcements from Disney Lucasfilm and rumors from other sources that a "RE-MAKE" of KOTOR is coming soon. We can only hope & pray the wrecking ball known as Disney Star Wars never follows through with it. In my opinion the game has a near flawless story. A "re-make" would be pointless and would only serve to further bastardize & destroy more of the Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU). A "Re-Master" is all that is really needed for this masterpiece and Disney would certainly screw that up too. There are also the shippers and weirdos who want to turn Revan into a Non Binary Bi Sexual , just because he is a fully customizable character and could be played as a female (to be inclusive to female gamers, waaay back in 2003) among many other customizable player features. Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) was another excellent addition to the Expanded Universe AND most importantly it stayed in continuity with stories told before it; without damaging, destroying or bastardizing Star Wars lore, characters or canon. It also kicked open the door and opened the floodgate for a massive amount of stories about the time period to be told. It also exponentially expanded upon the lore of the Ancient Sith and a lore concerning the Force in general.
