דאפקעניאק dafkenyak
A person who will consistently go out of their way to pester others, with absolute great intention, often getting satisfaction from their actions
סטראשענען strashenen
To threaten to do something unpleasant or rude to get what you want from someone, while there is a mutual silent understanding that you would never actually fulfill your threats, you are only saying it for a jump scare effect to manipulate them into getting what you want. Most often this threat wouldn’t actually cause harm to the person being threatened, it could just be a refusal to comply to do something, while both parties know that you will end up doing it anyway.
א באלאבוסטא a balabusta
This describes a woman that is a good homemaker. She can keep an orderly home, cooks homey, tasty food, and has a pleasant, jolly attitude. Culturally, this word is often applied to fuller-figured women
imbapurirt/ imbachlimpirt
This adjective describes someone (often a housewife) who cannot manage, control, or maintain their life, their home, their thoughts, or their body. They’re always frantic with their long, unfinished to-do lists, which when they attempt to do, they always fail drastically. Whatever they cook becomes burnt, boils over, or remains raw. Their homes and spaces are always a pile of unorganized papers and empty food wrappers, sticky puddles, dirt that’s been dragged in from outside, and fingerprints on every surface. They can barely keep their own hygiene and appearance up and their clothes are always crumpled, stained, and reworn. On top of that, their thoughts are scrambled and unfocused, and they just can’t seem to get it together. They are not a balabusta. Imbachlimpert is the harsher version of the word, while imbapurirt can be used on a person who just can’t manage at a specific task, or in a certain area.
ערלעדיגן erledigen
To complete a task or take care of something or someone that had to be attended to. This could be used as slang for killing someone. It’s most often used when running errands.
אפטעון/uptiehen
To sneakily make someone suffer, usually in a minor way. You usually do this action with the intention of causing someone discomfort because you feel wronged by that person. It’s never something that has the intention of having lasting effects, more like a small slap on the hand but in a sneaky, mischievous way. It can be just being a troublemaker, just because, but whatever it is, the actions are generally not done in the open. While doing this trouble, it can even be at a disadvantage to yourself, but you’ll do it anyway, just so you can see the victim getting their wrist slapped.
פארגינען/farginen
To graciously accept that someone else has gotten something that you didn’t want them to get, although knowing that you couldn’t have gotten it yourself even if they hadn’t gotten it. This word is most often used in its negative form: Not accepting graciously that someone has gotten something that they just don’t want them to have out of spite.
אונטערגעציפט/ intergetzipt
This describes a person that is malicious and mean but in a sneaky, backdoor, double intention manner. This person knows how to rub someone’s shortcomings in in a way where their victim can’t even pick up on the spot what had bothered them about what the intergetzipte person had just said, but they had managed to make them feel awful inside on their weakest spot. Their attacks though are always verbal and they play mental games, it’s never physical bullying. They are the world’s most indirect roasters that make you feel, how did they manage to get to me? I didn’t even notice that they were saying something insulting!
געפעלן gefellen
This is when something appeals to someone, usually because it is at the same standard that they hold themselves to. If you don’t want to do something, simply because it doesn’t gefell you, it’s because you feel like that action is a step down in your mental hierarchy of how you hold yourself, and it just doesn’t appeal to you.
