| Video Discription | Village Cooking in Laos | Meeting Family For The First Time in Savannakhet | Travel In Laos After Vientiane, I take an overnight bus to my families hometown Savannakhet, Laos. This was an emotional experience since it was my first time meeting my family and cousins in Laos since 1992. We got to face time my family in Wisconsin and meet all the kids. My cousins took me to their village an hour away and I got to see how they lived and they cooked me amazing Lao meals. All the villagers came to meet me and through me a baci to wish me a safe travel. Xeno - This area is about 2-3 hours away from Savannakhet. It is very small and quiet. There is a bus stop in the town that you can take to get back to Savannakhet. My cousins live in a village near Xeno and it is very remote. The village had a few houses and they are all on stilts because of the heavy rain in Laos. My aunt had several cows and a pig in the back. There are several wild dogs just running around the kids play with them. Lao Village Food - All the food was very fresh. They butchered fresh chicken for my visit. They had a few jeaws to enjoy with sticky rice and a soup.
