Time Account Types- SAP Successfactors Employee Central
User-specific time accounts follow a template and time account type is the template which regulates and controls what the user-specific time accounts should look like. Let me share with you the list of fields in it and how can they be used.
Country
In order to create a time account type which is valid only for a specific country say for example USA, we use this field. The country-specific time account types will not be available for selection at the time of assigning them to the Time Type of a different country. This means that this Time Account Type template is valid only for that specific country.
Below are the fields which are relevant for creating Time Account Types:
Unit Values: The unit of the Time Account Types can be either Hours or Days. This unit should be same as the unit used in the Time Type to which this Time Account Type would be assigned. This should be carefully selected as once the time accounts are created for the time account type the unit cannot be changed. The time accounts needs to be deleted for all the employees in the systems to change the unit of the Time Account Types.
Account Creation Type: This can be either Recurring or Permanent. When we need only one time account per employee for this time account type we use permanent. Recurring is selected when we want multiple time accounts for a time account type which is valid for one year. This will create one time account for each year.
Account Creation Offset (Months): If “Automatic Account Creation” is set for account creation automation this field is relevant. Any value between 0 and -24 can be entered in this field. This means that the account would be created automatically by the system X months before the “Account Valid From "date.
For example, if the Account Valid From [Day] is 1 and Account Valid From [Month] is 2, and the Account Creation Offset [Months] is -1. That means that the account for 2020 should be created on November 1, 2019 which is 2 months prior to the start of the next time account which January 1, 2020.
Account Booking Offset (Months): If the account creation type is set as recurring, this field becomes relevant. It accepts a number which will extent the possibility of booking into the time account by those many months. Recurring accounts are usually valid for one year. Making an entry in this field extends the duration of booking to this time account. Booking would not be possible for the specified number of months after the end of the validity period for the recurring account.
Entering "6" in the “Account Booking Offset (Months)” field makes the bookings possible until June 30 of the next year if the time account is valid for one year when the year starts from January 1 and ends on December 31.
Account Creation Start Date: If the account creation type is Recurring, this field becomes relevant. It accepts the below values:
• Employee Hire Date
• Account Valid From for Time Account Type (Day or Month)
• Employee Flexible Date
The start date of the creation of the time accounts for users to whom this time account is assigned can be controlled by specifying a value in this field.
The validity of the time accounts starts from the anniversary of the day the employee was hired, if Employee Hire Date is selected. This is only for time account types with frequency Monthly or Annually.
The validity of the time accounts starts from the day and month values entered in the Account Valid From fields, if Account Valid From (Day or Month) for Time Account Type is selected.
The validity of the time accounts starts the date which is determined by the Flexible Account Start Date Rule, if Employee Flexible Date is selected.
